John O’Donnell, Michael Pritchard, Parminder J Singh
The highlights of 2014 comprised Mr John O’Donnell completing his Presidency of the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy (ISHA) and handing over this prestigious elected position to the American based surgeon Dr Tomas Byrd. Mr Michael Pritchard returned to operating in June 2014 after 6 months of rehabilitation due to an arm injury in December 2013. Mr Parminder J Singh has published a number of surgical techniques in hip arthroscopy and been appointed as the Editorial Chair for the International Society of Hip Arthroscopy. We will be attending the next ISHA meeting in Cambridge, UK 2015 and would welcome those interested in the latest techniques in hip arthroscopy to attend.
Hip arthroscopy Australia surgeons have published a number of key scientific papers in 2014 contributing further to the growing knowledge in the area of hip arthroscopy. Mr John O’Donnell, Mr Michael Pritchard and Mr Parminder J Singh have co-authored a number of key publications including the lead paper in the first edition of the Journal of hip preservation surgery. Other papers in other scientific journals included the clinical assessment of the ligamentum teres and the radiological assessment of femero-acetabular impingement. Hip Arthroscopy Australia surgeons developed the first ever clinical validated test for the ligamentum teres which is now being widely adopted by doctors and physiotherapists around the world.
